Colorama Paper Backdrops

Colorama paper backdrops are a popular choice among photographers and filmmakers for creating a clean, simple, and versatile coloured backdrop for shoots.

Setting Up Colorama Paper Backdrops

Setting up Colorama paper backdrops is relatively easy and straightforward. The paper comes in rolls that are typically 2.7m wide and 11m long, but you can also get smaller and even custom widths. The paper can be hung from a backdrop support system (made up of a bar across two stands), or sometimes they are suspended from a ceiling-mounted system using a roll holder. Once the paper is hung, it can be unrolled and adjusted to the desired length. The height will depend on how high the stands or mount can go to.

Versatile Backgrounds

One of the biggest advantages of using Colorama backdrops is their versatility. They come in a wide range of colours, from classic white and black, to vibrant hues and pastels. This means that you can easily create a backdrop that complements your subject or product and enhances the overall look and feel of your shoot.

Colorama paper backdrops can be used to create different effects depending on how you light them. For example, by lighting the paper evenly from both sides, you can create a seamless and uniform background. Alternatively, by lighting the paper from just one angle, you can create a shadow effect that adds depth and dimension to your shot.

Coloramas are popular with many types of shoots, including portrait photography, product photography, and video shoots.

Cost-effective

One of the key benefits of using Colorama paper backdrops is that they are a cost-effective solution for creating a professional-looking backdrop. Compared to other types of backdrops, such as canvas or muslin, Colorama paper is relatively inexpensive, making it an ideal choice for photographers and filmmakers who are working on a budget. Paper backdrops are also easy to change over, meaning you can quickly get through multiple different background set-ups.
